My Review of Ariel's Beginning

I really enjoyed watching this movie. We rented it for my daughter's birthday. I'm a big Disney Princess fan as you can see and although I think it could have been done better, it was still good. I don't believe I will buy it however and it definitely has nothing on my all time favorite movie, Enchanted.

The story line was likeable, telling us the story of what happened to Ariel's mother, why King Triton doesn't like "humans", etc.

The musical score to me was just "okay". I doubt they will win the awards that the origional Little Mermaid brags.

But the quality of the art was SPECTACULAR.

I would have liked to see the origional director direct this film if he is still around.

I am happy that they used the origional Ariel's voice for this movie and also Sebastian. Gotta love sebastian!

It's a good movie to watch once or twice. It doesn't have as many special features as I would have liked but it does have an adequate amount. There is a game you can play on it to find out which mermaid you are. That was fun!

I wouldn't pay $20.00 to own it though. I'll wait till I see it at the next yard sale :)

Enchanted Sequal?

movie - enchanted

I have heard buzz that the hit Disney movie Enchanted is working on a sequal! Maybe even a few!

I imagine the rumors are probably true considering this movie made a lot of money, particularly in DVD sales. I even purchased this movie because it's one you'll watch over and over again, an instant disney classic if you ask me!

What characters would be in the sequal? would they introduce new characters?

so what do you think. Is a sequal a good or bad idea? Regardless, it's gonna be a good idea for disney, I just hope they do the origional justice. It'll be near impossible to top it.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

Disney Princess Party Ideas

SHGN elena dice: me perdonan:) las amo♥aatte.elena:)

Author: Cynthia Marcano

The Disney Princesses are arguably the most recognizable
princesses on the planet. Every little girl dreams of being a
Disney Princess and what better time to become one than on her
birthday? With so many Disney Princess party supplies available,
it can be overwhelming planning a party. Here are some ideas to
help you plan the perfect Disney Princess Birthday Party.

Princess Invitations

Invitations are hard to come by. They can be found in most party
supplies or discount stores. However if you are looking for
something unique, you are only limited to your imagination. For
those limited on time or creativity, here are a few suggestions.

If you are on a limited budget, try finding Disney Princess clip
art on the and printing your own made party invitations. Disney
Princess clip art is readily available online. You can keep it
simple by adding the graphic to the top and adding the details
below. Its a no fold invitation. Tip: Make the invitations the
size of a readily available envelope so that mailing them will
be a snap.

If you have a bit more time and don't mind a little crafting,
try something a little more out of the box. The Disney
Princesses are most recognizable by the gowns they wear. Create
a variety of invitations each focusing on one princess. On each
invitation you can place one princess in her well known gown.
Embellish the gown by making it 2D. Cut colored foam or fabric
into the shape of the gown. Glue accordingly to the clip art.
Embellish the invitation with fairy dust powder or glitter to us
modern folk. Search online for Disney princess fonts and word
your invitation using the official font of the princesses.

Princess Decorating Tips

A Disney Princess royal affair needs to have the royal venue.
Jazzing up your party space to be princess perfect can be easy
as you want to as elaborate as the princess may demand. Using
pinks and purples are the common colors for any princess, but if
you have a specific Disney Princess in mind, using the color of
their gown is your best option.

A princess thrown is a must. A simple and affordable thrown are
in your reach. Use a standard dining chair and wrap tulle on the
back of the chair and tie a big bow. Measure the circumference
of the chair's seat and multiple by 3 to 4. That is the width of
tulle you will need for the seat portion of the thrown. Use
fabric glue and pleat the top of the tulle. Allow ample time to
dry. Place books or something heavy on the tulle to keep the
pleat together while drying. Wrap the tulle round the seat of
the chair and glue the ends together. Do not glue to the chair.
Use pins to keep together at its end to allow the fabric glue to
dry. The chair should have a pleated look and the tulle should
reach the floor. You can also make shorter versions of the
pleated tulle and than layer one on top of the other going from
the bottom of the chair up. You can embellish the tulle with
glitter or sequins. Do this a few days before the party.

Whether you decorate a chair or use a Disney Princess plush
chair that doesn't complete the thrown just yet. All thrown need
a red carpet that leads up to it. You can accomplish this by
using red construction paper or a red mat and lead it up to the
chair.

You can even add a tulle canopy above the chair for some extra
flair.

princess

Disney Princess scene setters are are fast and inexpensive way
to transform your party space into a Disney Princess ballroom.
There are also life size Disney Princess Stick ups to go with
the ballroom scene setters. You can choose one or all the
princesses to adorn your wall. The princess scene setters work
well as wall decor and a backdrop for photos. It is an easy
alternative to making a castle from cardboard and is fairly
inexpensive. Its also just a matter of adhering to your wall.

Princess Party Games

There are lots of Disney Princess games that you can choose to
entertain your guests.

Pass the Poison Apple - a Snow White version of hot potato

Find the Key - Cinderella is locked in the attic, find the key
and set her free

Mermaid Charades - Ariel has lost her voice to Ursula. Think up
popular themes or scenes from the movie and act them out.

Guess The Disney Princess Movie - Sing or play a song from the
movies and have the guests guess which movie it comes from

Dress Up - While this used to be for just girls, you can now
find Disney Princess dresses and Knights attire for the boys.
You can also turn this game into save the princesses or for the
boys, fight the dragon. The dragon is imaginary of course.

Disney Princess parties are fun and classic. Its becoming a rite
of passage for every little girl to have a Disney Princess party
within her lifetime. Embrace her royal spirit and create the
most magical and enchanting party that she and her guests are
sure to enjoy.

The best movie EVER! (for all ages!)

Enchanted

We recently purchased this movie at our local store because we had been trying to rent it since it came out and they were always out.

Luckily, this is not a movie you will watch once and never watch again. It was fantastic all around. My husband even enjoyed it! it has some great humor in it, great special effects, and just a great story. This is a good one for the kids too, so really just appleals to everyone.

enchanted movie

I have seen a lot of movies, and this is my favorite movie I have ever seen!
We paid the regular $19.95 price for our copy, but I found it cheaper here.

chances are, you have probably already seen the trailer, so here is a clip from the movie (probably my favorite part). Sure wish I could clean my house like this :)

watch and enjoy!

Disney Cell Phones - Good Solution For Kids

Author: Matt R

st. patricks day

The days when cell phones were just for adults seems to have
past us by now with the availability of new products designed
for our children. Some of these phones look just like regular
toys whilst others look more like mobile phones.

Disney

Disney cell phones can offer a very good solution for our
children but there are a few negatives as they don't necessarily
offer a great solution for parents especially if you require a
high-end phone and carrier.

You can of course just buy the Disney cell phone for your
children and then force your control by simply using a web
interface, this way you'll still be able to have a high end
phone for yourself.

disney

They do offer great convenience for parents whilst still
carrying enough features to keep the kids happy. And you'll be
able to keep control through features like family monitoring.
The only negative really is that they are not as high-end as
what is available with other carriers.

Disney mobile uses Sprint's infrastructure to enable them to
specifically offer a service which has been designed for parents
offering very unique services. Parents gain a fair amount of
control and are able know where their children are. Parents are
also able to control how much their children are able to spend
every month as well as being able to control who the kids can
and can't call.

disney

These particular cell phones how great for parents who want to
slowly give their children a little more freedom to explore
their boundaries but still have enough control to keep them safe.

You will not find any flash high-end phones offered by Disney as
they are focused on providing simple mobile devices which are
inexpensive but still offer the traditional features such as a
camera, camcorder and they do offer some packages with Bluetooth
but with more limited features.

By using a phone which has been programmed as "parent" you'll be
able to set any monthly limits, block certain numbers and there
is also an excellent feature which enables you to send a family
alert which is a SMS that is then sent to all other family
members.

Disney

The ability to be able to locate your children and track their
whereabouts is obviously a very popular feature amongst parents
although I wouldn't expect 100% precision but it will give you a
pretty reliable rough estimate of your child's location which
lets face it, is a good tool to have in your box in this day and
age.

It can be pretty useless with older kids though because if they
don't want you to know where they are all they have to do is
turn their Disney cell phone off or take the battery out.

So, there are many cool features to the Disney cell phones for
both parents and children alike. It's possible to provide your
child with a completely functioning cell phone and also be able
to rest assured that you are aware of where they are and that
they are safe and sound.

Disney World: 7 Fun Secrets Of The Magic Kingdom

Author: Anne Marie Hayes

Disney World

Article:
One of the amazing things about the Magic Kingdom is that the
Imagineers didn't just slap up the attractions. They put a great
deal of thought into finding special ways to delight and awe the
guests who would visit - by adding fun details and little
surprises.

That tradition has become a cornerstone for creating Disney
magic. These are some of the treasures you'll find in the Magic
Kingdom - (now that you know where to look!)

1. In the courtyard behind Cinderella's castle, there's a
beautiful fountain that features young Cinderella with some
animal friends. The backdrop to the fountain is a lovely mosaic
with a crown in the pattern. If you look at the fountain from
the right direction and the right angle, the crown looks like
it's on her head. This little detail foretells Cinderella's
future as the Princess of the land.

2. Remember the Tom Sawyer tale about whitewashing Aunt Polly's
fence?

Well - every morning Cast Members create their own mischief by
hiding some of Tom's paintbrushes on Tom Sawyer Island.

While your kids are exploring the island, they should look for
the paintbrushes. If they're lucky enough to find one, turn it
in to a Cast Member and they'll receive a special surprise!

3. At the Haunted Mansion, ask a Cast Member about the Legend of
Master Gracey. Most give a haunting performance. This is the
basic story:

Master Gracey was the master of the mansion. His first wife was
a tight-ropewalker - and sadly - lost her footing while crossing
over an alligator pit. There's a painting of her in the library.

His second wife was a young girl who was very close to her
family. She couldn't bear to be separated from them when she got
married - so she killed herself on her wedding night. (You'll
see her haunting the mansion in her wedding gown.)

After 2 tragic deaths, the Master reached the end of his rope
(literally!) You'll see him hanging in the library tower. His
tombstone is in the graveyard - on the left as you enter the
mansion.

Note: This story is quite different from the storyline of the
Disney movie "The Haunted Mansion". I guess the original theme
was just a little too whimsical (the tightrope thing), tragic
(the wedding night suicide) and far-fetched (the whole thing)
that even Eddie Murphy couldn't make it workable.

It does make for a cool ride though!

4. Check out the old-fashioned wooden telephone mounted on the
wall in the Market House on Main Street USA. It's a party line
and if you pick up the receiver and listen - you'll hear a silly
conversation. (Of course - then you'll have to explain to the
kids what a party line is!)

5. Waking up Tinkerbell

Tink is not any early riser and needs to be awakened every
morning. If you're at the park when it opens, make a beeline to
Tinkerbell's Treasures. (It's on the left behind Cinderella's
castle.)

The first children to arrive can ask a Cast Member if they can
awaken Tinkerbell. If they're selected, they'll take part in a
sweet little ceremony.

They'll tap 3 times on a small chest (with a sword or wand) and
say, "Wake up Tinkerbell!" She will awaken and fly around the
room so fast that you'll see dazzling lights and hear "Tink"
noises. Some lucky children even receive a certificate to
commemorate the event.

6. At the end of most days, (a real, live) Tinkerbell flies down
from the top of the castle during the closing ceremonies. Look
closely and you can see the wire she "flies" on.

7. Tony's Town Square Restaurant is modeled after the favorite
restaurant of Lady and the Tramp. Outside - in the cement -
you'll find a heart with the paw prints of these 2 famous
canines! (It's also an operating restaurant and a good place to
share a plate of spaghetti!)

Enchanted Life

Author: Tsoof and Eden Baras

Article:
Fairy tales usually bring to life a fantasy about far away
lands, kings and queens, wizards, fairies and witches, trolls
and talking animals. They take us to a place where the poor get
rich and the weak gets strong. All fairy tales, (though not all
have fairies, like Hansel and Gretel or Little Red Riding Hood)
include fantasy and unreal scenarios. The more unreal the idea,
the more enchanting the story.

When you examine the classic children's tales you see that the
real fascination with fairy tales is the comparison between
fantasy and reality. Readers and viewers know the movies and
stories are not part of reality. How many talking wolves do you
know? And why would old women eat children? Who wouldn't want to
be a princess? How easy it is to kill a dragon?

Imagination has been a great tool for humanity since the Stone
Age. People have imagined things they have never seen before and
progress has been sparked. When Jules Verne wrote "20 Thousand
Leagues under the Sea", his fiction, and imaginary underwater
ship sparked an idea in people's minds to build the first
submarine.

Fantasies, fairy tales and science fiction are all stories about
an unreal world and are a wonderful stimulation for people's
imagination, becoming a great source for joy and creativity. In
the beginning, stories were passed down from generation to
generation or from one place to another by story tellers. The
enthusiasm and accuracy of each story was at the mercy of the
story teller and their sharp memory. In those days, every time
the same story was told, details varied, characters and scenes
changed to suit the audience. Later, written books helped keep
the accuracy of the story. Acting became a great way for story
tellers to pass on their messages and keep those stories alive.

The next stage of each tale was to add pictures. This was a
great way to help people see creatures they had never seen and
could not imagine: dragons, trolls, monsters, witches and
fairies. Picture books opened a new era of imagination. One
significant part of this evolution was the comic book.

The next stage in the evolution of fairy tales was the birth of
Motion Pictures - animation. Walt Disney, for example was a
great visionary who dreamed about times when all people, young
and old would watch animation. Sure enough, not too long after
his first creation, movie theatres are filled with people.

While animation was still limited to drawn pictures, advanced
technology has made the movie creators advanced story tellers.
With tricks of a camera, people can vanish in a cloud of dust,
animals can talk, outer space can be re-created and fascinating
creatures come to life. Some of them look so real the difference
between fantasy and reality has faded.

Last week, we watched "Enchanted", a movie in which fantasy
characters have entered the real world. The movie compared the
worlds. Surprisingly, characters from the fantasy showed the
real people, that life can be so much better if they believed in
good things.

Happily Ever After

Author: Tsoof and Eden Baras

Article:
After careful consideration of the movies I have seen in my
time, I have come to the conclusion that all those fairy tale,
Disney movies like "Aladdin" and "The Little Mermaid" comprise a
large part of my movie repertoire.

When I was younger, those movies were always interesting because
that princess was the prettiest and those animals could talk.
And guess what! Everyone always seemed to live happily ever
after. While they were all similar enough, they each had their
own appeal.

As I got older, I never picked those movies when one needed to
be picked, but I just happened to be walking by as my sibling
were watching them, and of course I had nothing better to do so
I may as well sit down and watch. They are a funny story, an
easy laugh and a good way to spend time with family. What fun we
have afterwards, imitating voices and repeating lines, it goes
on forever.

Being the daughter of a teacher and a life coach, I learnt
quickly that after watching a movie, we each choose different
morals and make decisions based on how we see movies compared to
our own lives. For children, fairy tales help clarify important
points and alleviate fears. They help to easily distinguish
between what is right and what is wrong, what is evil and what
is good.

All fairy tale movies tend to start with a sentence that is kin
to "once upon a time…" and they all end with "happily ever
after". They have delicate females who fall swiftly in love and
strong brave males that always come to the rescue. Ugly beasts
that haunt the woods and wicked step mothers are definitely bad,
and of course, animals can speak and will help in any trouble.
Sometimes fairies and genies exits and there are other worlds
out there besides our own. The poor and the good hearted always
triumph, and fears are conquered in times of trial.

In the past, these movies were a great pastime, an easy way to
entertain children by telling a story and passing on a message.
They were often legends and old wives' tales passed down from
generation to generation. These movies play a large role in my
opinion. They simplify things. They make every thing "black or
white," (so to speak), it is either wrong or right, good or bad.
These movies give the feeling that, yeah, sometimes bad things
happen, but in the end, it will be ok.

We live in a world where sometimes the evil person is not always
so ugly and easily identified, the princess is not always so
pretty and slim, and sometimes, the poor stay poor forever. The
good at heart don't always end up heroes, the fairies can't save
you and you cannot conjure things out of thin air. The dead
cannot be saved by will alone and muscles don't grow overnight.

Once upon a time there was a fairy tale movie. In the movie
there was a beautiful princess and her charming prince. They
experienced a great adventure and in the end, they lived happily
ever after. If only real life was so easy.
